Kandi Pachadi / Tuvar Dal Chutney

Ingredients:
  • Tuvar Dal/ Kandi Pappu- 1 cup (Pigeon Pea)
  • Garlic Cloves- 5-8 peeled
  • Dry red chilies- 5-8 broken
  • Cumin seeds- 1 tsp (Jeera)
  • Tamarind- a small piece (Washed)
  • Water- as required (for grinding)


For Tempering:
  • Oil- 1 1/2 tbsp
  • Mustard seeds- 3/4 tsp
  • Cumin seeds- 1/2 tsp (Jeera)
  • Asafoetida- 1/4 tsp (Hing)
  • Dry red chilies- 1-2 broken

It is very simple to prepare and stays good for 3-5 days.
