- Black Chana- 1 cup (Black chickpeas)
- Cucumber- 1 finely chopped
- Onion- 1 finely chopped
- Tomato- 1 finely chopped
- Coriander leaves- a small handful, chopped
- Salt- to taste
- Ground Black pepper- 1/4 tsp
- Lemon Juice- 1/2 tsp or more
Method:
- Soak the black chana overnight or you can soak those in hot water for an hour with the lid on.
- Once soaked, boil in cooker for 3 whistles or directly in a dish.
- It takes 12-15 minutes to boil.
- Meanwhile wash and chop the cucumber, onion and tomato. You can add julienne of carrot or beetroot as well.
- Drain any excess water from the chickpeas and let those dry for few minutes.
- Water turns the veggies soggy.
- Next add the chopped pieces to the chickpeas and mix once.
- Now add salt, ground pepper and squeeze a lemon. Mix again to incorporate the flavors. Finally add chopped coriander leaves.
- Let it sit for a 5-10 minutes and it is ready to eat.
